Trust Tuesday 12/05/20

This #TrustTuesday Barbara shares a reminder of God’s faithfulness …

Rather than writing a prayer for #TrustTuesday, I would like to invite everyone to spend some time meditating on the words of this wonderful hymn which has filled my heart every morning since news of the arrival of Coronavirus in our country.

When there is so much uncertainty for all and pain and distress for many, it seemed incongruous that every morning, when I stepped outside for my allotted exercise, my very being soared heavenward in praise and thanksgiving.

But consider this – before we put forward our most fervent petitions and supplications, we have to acknowledge the will and ability of the one to whom we put our requests to fulfil them. To be surrounded by creation, to see, hear, feel that everything around us is just as it should be confirms that our faithful God is still in charge.

There is much for us to pray for, but first, let us focus the one who loves us and shelters us through the storm. Take your time, (we have plenty of it) and let the love of our Heavenly Father permeate your being.

Or read the lyrics below …

Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer
And to guide
Strength for today
and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
