This #ThoughtfulThursday Sue shares with us ‘Biblical Antidotes to Anxiety’…
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything , by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”
However, it is not always easy to stop being anxious. So how can we put these verses into practice, and find calm as we entrust our concerns to God?
T Tell God what we need – be specific in voicing our concerns. Ephesians Ch.6. v 18
R Rely on Him – acknowledging our utter need of God’s help in every circumstance. Hebrews Ch.4. v 14-16
U Unburden our hearts – explain our true thoughts and feelings to our father. 1 Peter Ch.5. v.7
S Submit to God – seeking forgiveness, and being willing to be obedient to His will. 1 Peter Ch.5 v 7
T Thank Him – remembering to give Him praise, glory and thanks in everything. Ephesians Ch.5. v 20
When we put our TRUST into practice we can experience that amazing gift of Christ’s grace, giving us quiet confidence about situations that cause us most anxiety.
