Scripture Saturday 16/05/20

Martin shares the Joy of his favourite verse this #ScriptureSaturday …

Forgiven, wholly accepted, fully restored, highly favoured and loved.  I am mightily saved.  What a great place to be for any person!

To be highly favoured and mightily saved is a position that I have long enjoyed with my God and shall continue to do so.  To have and to continue in the most loving relationship a person could ever experience has always and shall continue to be my single greatest joy in life because through Him all else flows.  A relationship for which I give Him thanks every day when I first awake and look outside my bedroom window to see His goodness.  His goodness that abounds in blessings that only serve to build our relationship.

I have long thought there could be no greater understanding than the fact I am highly favoured by my God, my saviour, but when I heard that He sings over me I felt I had to learn more.  He, the creator of heaven and earth, sings over me!  When I first heard this I had to check the bible and find the reference for myself as it was just so amazing.  To be elevated to such a supreme place seemed inconceivable in this world where we are constantly “measured” and frequently told that we must “do more” but this is not the case with our God.

So, you may very well ask, where is this verse so I too may see it for myself?  Zephaniah 3:17 [NIV]: “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.  He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

He is the source of love and this is clearly demonstrated in that He gave His only son that I may be set free!  Yet, I stand amazed in the further knowledge that He sings over me and so I thank Him every day.  First thing I do and shall continue to do every day is give thanks to my saviour.  As the song writer wrote (paraphrased) “I stand amazed in His presence…”
