Scripture Saturday 11/07/20

Today for #ScriptureSaturday Joany shares a scripture which had an instant impact on her …

Acts 5:38-39
“Leave these men alone for if their purpose is of human origin it will fail but if it is of God you will find yourselves fighting against God.”

I am sure, like I am, you are grateful to Aimee for co-ordinating to bring these daily messages to us. If Aimee asked you to contribute to #ScriptureSaturday would one particular of many Bible messages that have had an instant impact on you immediately come to mind?

I was a very young Christian in my late thirties, 40 years ago, when this happened to me when I first read Acts Chapter 5 verses 17- 39 “The apostles Persecuted”

Peter and other apostles were before the Sanhedrin found guilty of preaching about Jesus when they said, verse 29 “We must obey God rather than man”.

The Sanhedrin wanted to put them to death but a Pharisee named Gamaliel pointed out how Theudas and then Judas the Galilean both claimed to be ‘somebody’ but came to nothing.

Then we come to verses 38 and 39 “Leave these men alone for if their purpose is of human origin it will fail But if it is of God you will find yourselves fighting against God”.

WOW! I said to myself 2,000 years later! How can anyone not believe after reading that?
