This #MusicMonday, Sue shares a favourite for all ages …
This song by Rend Collective was very popular last year or so with the young people in our schools and churches.
I remember a NISCU schools’ worker telling me how she met a family in Carlisle and they told her that the youngest child had heard it at school, came home and taught it to all the family. They then proceeded to perform it in the city centre!
This is a bewildering time for everyone with so may uncertainties and the future uncharted territory. Children look to the adults for reassurance but many are as equally unsure of what lies ahead. So I think the song may encourage both young and not so young, with the last verse being especially so. It says:
I won’t fear what tomorrow brings
With each morning I’ll rise and sing
My God’s love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
How amazing is the gift of music and poetry, and how God can use it to meet our every need and deepen our love and trust in Him. To quote a cover on one of my Christian albums songs can “remind us of the past, anchor us in the present, and provide hope for the future”.
It’s always a good day to praise the Lord! Alleluia!
